Ghostriders make some changes

Ghostrider Head Coach Jeff Wagner made a few changes to his roster yesterday. First of all he sent goaltender Zak Larson’s Hockey Canada rights to Grand Forks for a player development fee.

Wagner kept three goalies (so everyone knew something was going to happen) until yesterday but with December 1st on the horizon and the fact that as the season wears on it can get harder and harder to find a place for guys to play, he made some moves.

The goal isn’t just to get down to 23, you want to find spots for your guys to play.

Larson is a twenty year old and the two other goalies Riley Fonger and Justin Faiella are 18 and 19 so could play in Fernie next season, in junior you alway have to look ahead.

Press Release
The Fernie Ghostriders have sent (98) G Zak Larson to the Grand Forks Border Bruins for a PDF. The organization would like to thank Zak for his time and effort over the last year and a half and wish him all the best in Grand Forks.

Next Wagner brought in David Lenzin from Revelstoke for a PDF. Lenzin is another 20 year old (you can carry 5, Fernie has 4)  who had some really good numbers in Revy, 5 goals and 6 assists in 7 games so he should be able to add lots to the Rider offence plus he plays on the PP. Lenzin will be in the lineup Friday and Saturday here in Fernie.

Press release. The Fernie Ghostriders are excited to announce the acquisition of (98) F David Lenzin from the Revelstoke Grizzlies! He will be in the line up this weekend! Welcome to Fernie, David. #RideTogether

With the addition of Lenzin coach Wagner had to find a spot for 18 year old winger Cole Gibson who had 2 assists in 8 games. Gibson is going to Beaver Valley to a coach (Terry Jones) that the players really seem to like.

 Press Release
The Fernie Ghostriders have sent (00) F Cole Gibson to the Beaver Valley NiteHawks in exchange for a PDF. We thank Cole for his time with the team and wish him the best in his future endeavours!
