Actual games, Saturday night, 500, gun shy, foaming vaccine mouthes, needle marks, AAA’s and locals
It looks like the Ghostriders will play actual games this season. Not just a ridiculous daily practice schedule like last year.
So far they have endured a training camp and won an exhibition game 5-4 on the road in Golden. Golden will be here in Fernie Saturday to return the favour at 7:30.
It sounds like they will be allowed have about 500 fans, or half capacity. Read more here But don’t bet on that number ... things change daily in this new stupid covid world. And the City, who may be a little gun shy after the arena debacle a few years ago, might have their own take on the number of fans allowed.
The KIJHL says all players and staff must be vaccinated but who knows about the fans or if they have to have a vaccine passport to get in. If there’s a pile of foaming at the mouth protesters in front of the rink...you better have needle marks in your shoulders.
The roster they posted before the Golden game had several locals and a few AAA guys from Alberta... AAA players can almost always play in this league. Hopefully a few local players can get through the first month of the season.
