In Kimberley neither the Riders or Nitros could beat Riley Fonger or KD Adam Andersen until the 3rd period when Keegan McDowell from Palmer and Skytt scored on the power play.
Then at 7:25 of the 3rd Braiden Koran from Palmer and McDowell made it 2-0.
With just 2:45 left Niki Sombrowski scored from Kyle Ford and David Lenzin to make it 2-1 but Brady Daniels scored into the empty net and Kimberley takes game #1 3-1.
Riley Fonger was riding 191 minutes 45 seconds of shutout hockey but finally got beat in the third period. Fonger was the Riders Player of the Game.
Keegan McDowell with a goal and an assist was the KD POG.
The Riders went 0-5 on the PP Kimberley went 1-3.

Pretty good road game for the Riders who played the Nitros very close and had enough chances to win until a power play goal the third period. The two teams will do it again Friday night in Kimberley then take a day off and play in Fernie Sunday and Monday.
