The Fernie Ghostriders get their second win of the young season on the road with a 7-1 pasting of the Kelowna Chiefs. There were several PIM's and it appears that the Kelowna bench was given a Game Misconduct with five seconds left in the game.
Seven different players scored for the Riders, Tyler Rebelato, Dylan Robertson, Sam Plaquin, Derek Georgopoulos, David Kelly, Josh McCulloch and sixteen year old Cavin Tilsley all had goals and Jeff Orser(2-0) got the win in net stopping 33 of 34 shots. Kelowna's 17 yr old goalie Josh Shank made 25 of 32 saves and played the whole game.
Ghostrider Notes
Randy Teeple, Spencer Bender, Colby Burns, Kyle Haugo and Cole Keebler did not dress. This was a fairly hard fought game with two actual fights ( Kale Johnston and Tayler Sincennes) and several roughing, elbowing etc type of calls. The Riders went 3-8 on the PP. Kelowna's Cole De Jonge got a Hit to the Head call and former Creston Thunder Cat Ethen Rusnack scored the lone Chiefs G.
Dylan Robertson, Travis Thomsen, Justin Peers and Josh McCulloch each had 2 points and seven different players scored making this a pretty good team effort. The Coaches say Cavin Tilsley had a great game and was their player of the game. The radio picked Robertson as the POG. New defenseman Zak Kuchler had a point in his first game.
With 3 goals in his first two games Sam Plaquin leads the team in scoring. Dylan Robertson's goal was a SH goal, he had 4 of them last year and has 3 points so far this yr as well.
