Round the League

Round the League, from a Fernie perspective.

The Riders got two wins last weekend 2-0 in Golden and 7-3 vs Castlegar but at the same time Kimberley, who are on a 6 game win streak, defeated Creston 4-3 in OT and with12 points are just 1 behind the Cats with 13. The Riders have 7 points and are 1 up on Golden and 4 up on the Rockies who are on a 5 game losing streak as we speak.

When the Riders were playing Golden last Friday the Rocket Twitter said that they had sent three players home with mono in the last 48 hours. This happens once in a while in junior hockey so the Rider coaches and trainers (and all the other teams coaches and players) will have to keep a close eye on the boys in the next few weeks.

In the Murdoch Division the Grand Forks Border Bruins are in first place so when the Riders play there on Saturday after roadie in Spokane they will have their hands full. As usual Beaver Valley is right up at the top as well just 1 point behind the Bruins.

In the West.
After a bit of slow start Duner and his 100 Mile House Wranglers (who won everything last season) are back on top followed closely by the Chase Heat.

Osoyoos is always a top team and this year is no different, they are 6-0 and are  tied with Summerland for first, but have 2 games in hand.

After a 0-8 start where they were out scored 46-8  the Sicamous Eagles Head Coach Ty Davidson is no longer with the team. Rider fans will remember Davidson for all his years in Golden. We haven’t heard if it was mutual or he was relieved... but the numbers are ominous.
