The Eddie Mountain Breakdown

Rockies 2 @ Fernie 1

The Rockies star goalie Connor Mckay stopped 32 of 33 shots to give the Rockies a much needed win Friday night... but McKay didn't have to "steal" this game, he made some big stops but many of the shots weren't of the grade "A" variety.  The Riders taking a couple of penalties in the last 5 minutes while down 2-1 didn't help their cause much either. Kevin Pierce scored the lone Rider goal on the power play.

Last Night's game sheet

The shots were pretty much even at 34-33 CVR and the Riders #1 Brandon Butler was in net, but he only let in 2 so he gave his team a chance to win. The boys just couldn't generate enough grade A chances and allowed the Rockies to get as many shots. The previous games the Riders outshot CVR 2 to 1.

The Riders go  Beaver Valley  tonight (Sat Oct 29) where they will be throughly tested by the Hawks who just gave Creston their first regulation loss .

BV 3 @ Creston 2

Devin Nemes 1G 1A scored the game winner in the second period and BV's goalie  Tallon Kramer was the POG for the Hawks. The shots were 29 each and there were no power play goals and all the scoring was in the second. The Hawks led 2-0 then the Cats tied it before Nemes scored the GW.

Creston's #1 Brock Lefebvre was in net for the loss as well and Kyle Bergh scored both Cat goals.
Creston plays Nelson at home tonight.

Nelson 1 @ Kimberley 2

New Nitro star Matt Davies scored the game winner, his 7th goal and 11th point in 9 games for the Nitro's 5th win and 24th point tying Creston for 1st in the division. The Leafs outshot KD 34-28 and Devin Allen took the loss while Mitch Traichevich had the win in Kimberley's net

Golden 5 @ Spokane 3
The Rockets surprised Spokane with a 5-3 win Friday keeping pace with the Rockies for the last playoff spot. The Rockets went 3-7 on the PP and 5 different players scored, Andrew Dunn had 3 A and Owen Sikkes had the win in net. Golden is in Grand Forks tonight.

In other news... Sicamous with 5 PP goals got their 1st win of the year with an 8-7 home ice OT win over the Kamloops Storm when  Jaden Hay finished off his hat trick in the OT, the Eagles took 3 penalties in the 3rd and the Storm tied it but battled back in the OT
