Burgess had 2 goals (29th and 30th) and 2 assists (58 pts) Sam Plaquin had 2 goals and most importantly Cole Keebler who has been in and out of the lineup all season came back and scored a couple of goals. He was really handling the puck well and if he can stay healthy will be a real asset in the PO starting next Wednesday. See the PO schedule here Spencer Bender was also back in the lineup and had an assist, hope he's back for the duration.
Kyle Haugo 98 had his first junior fight Friday against Colton Sandboe (96) . Haugo got in one before his larger and older opponent wrestled him down. Kyle's gonna be a beauty in the next few years and he can play up from or on the blueline as well. Looked like Dan Burgess who has only played 11 games had the green light to try and score, he had a couple of chances but was shutout.
Speaking of shutout Jeff Orser was looking pretty good for one until the third when he was stung for a couple of goals. But still got his 24th W.
Beaver Valley won 5-2 against Castlegar so the Riders need another win or a BV loss to get 2nd overall and home ice in the third round if they get there. BV is in Castlegar tonight and Fernie is in CVR tonight and at home Sunday to finish off the season against CVR again for the 3rd game in a row.
825 at the game Friday, a pretty good crowd that saw lots of goals a few hits and a fight. CVR's Ryan St Jean seemed to get the worst of a few things and an accidental hi stick as well.
Coach Craig Mohr says he will get some AP's in the lineup tonight and if they get second overall maybe all of them Sunday here in Fernie
